This unisex, nautical inspired bracelet is handmade from ghost fishing gear and bottle caps collected out of the ocean! Named after the bay I called home and where my family's oyster farm is located, CCB45.
The soul of this bracelet lies in the ropes, which are primarily sourced of commercial fishing nets from commercial fishing nets, either removed from the ocean by me or donated by fishermen. Many commercial fishermen have to pay to have netting and gear properly and ethically disposed of - one of many roadblocks people who make a living off the ocean face when trying to be sustainable. If you have used rope/ nets you want to get rid of (at no cost to you) please email me. After all, the best people to save and protect our oceans, are the people that are on them every day!
The middle piece is made from bottle caps I've collected off the beach, melted, and repurposed into a plastic sheet. Since the majority of bottle caps are made from the same type of plastic (HDPE) and have the same melting point, they can safely be melted without letting off harmful gasses.
The Cape Cod Bay Nautical Bracelet features a stainless steel slider, offering both rust-proof durability and easy adjustability. The closures are adorned with hand-whipped marine whipping twine, Closers are hand whipped by me with waxed marine whipping twine adding a personal maritime touch to each bracelet.
The center piece may vary slightly since each piece is one of a kind.
